how is the new year feeling? i feel lucky, my birthday is at the beginning half of january so i truly consider that day my jumping off point. the first until the 12th is my warm up. i need it, that's for certain.

carson begins his new job tomorrow and he's having those new job feelings. i'm going to be sending lots of love his way all monday long. you know, the way you do when you're in love and you can calm someone even miles away.

last night, croaker got to kick off madison's first LOST CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL at the project lodge. it was one heck of a hot one, but i think we rocked it.
if you're close to madison this weekend, i highly recommend stopping by to check out the great acts spreading out all over town. tonight, our good friends FORT WILSON RIOT and a local favorite of mine LAND OF VANDALS are both playing at the high noon.

i had the pleasure of sharing a night of music with fort wilson riot at the anna lee earlier this spring. look out world, they are taking over!

last week i was sitting in the station inn in nashville. i knew i was in for a good show, despite not knowing many of the musicians performing that night.

the 9 piece band played a beautiful set, then they asked a man from the crowd to come up and join them. that man, was john prine.

what more can i say? : )

one word stories

it's no secret that i'm in love with miranda july.
i could go on and on about all the great things should does and is, but i think that could be a whole blog in itself. i just believe she is an unique and smart woman, living creatively and living out loud. (let's do that, okay ladies?)

i'm getting to the point. THE POINT is, check out her work. She just released a new book entitled "It Chooses You" and I'm excited because it's non-fiction! That's right, we'll get to know her deepest, darkest secrets. I don't think so, but I'm still excited.
