town-ing around

it's been far too long since i've just --- walked, with no purpose and just a camera in hand.

in case you weren't aware, fall is really pretty

i'm such a sucker for fall colors and fading flowers. all of these were shot at the one and only, olbrich botanical gardens.

fall weather and fall colors. old houses and white cubes. it was nice to be out of town for a while.

when i don't know what to wear, i'm going to find a pretty photo and just match it.

why did that take so long to figure out?

[that collar is almost too pretty, i get afraid to wear it out of the house. and those flowers are from our last visit up to "the land". a good memory.]

eye spy

i've started a self portrait challenge without even meaning to. plus this whole "finding a photo to match" is really fun.

self portraits are something i don't do a lot of. i like myself and all, but i'm drawn to the more abstract self portrait... more about the essence, the "idea of self".

i think it's because i'm such a contradiction. my element is water. i love the gray areas of life.

actually, i have no idea why.

october's weather has been so beautiful, i'm wondering if we're skipping winter and heading straight to spring. _stephanie

lonely but i don't mind

i spent a day walking around the arboretum last week. it can be a lonely feeling in there but it's strangely comforting at the same time.

night with the circus

here are a few snapshots from carson's gig at evolution art's circus show last week. (boy, that's a mouthful) there was such a collection of performers and artists there: jugglers, rope twirlers, fire dancers and belly dancers. i had never experienced something like that before.
the best part was dressing up - the dress i had carried with me for years and it felt perfect for the evening. i made the mask for under 6 bones. i got the idea for it off of the always inspiring, lune vintage.

now i'm really ready for halloween, stephanie.

a golden love affair

i'm currently having a love affair with my own neighborhood. it's a golden god.
