food, we're big fans of it

carson and i got to document madison original's very first "flavors of madison" event. it was quite the scene - over 40 madison restaurants participated, including some of our favorites (the brasserie v, daisy cupcakery and the roman candle). i had the best salmon of my life and TWO amazing pulled pork sandwiches. i'm still in awe of the whole thing, really.

bill, who is the talent behind farms to food, completely gave us all his trust in this endeavor - i was handed a very large video camera (see below) for my first attempt at interviewing chefs and patrons and carson was thrown into his first photography assignment ever.

i could not have done it without my boy - he got his hands dirty, walking behind tables to get chefs in action and marching right up to fancy folks with their mouths full of food to ask them questions for the camera.

below you will find my boy's photographs from the night. they are moody and beautiful - almost like vintage photos from a dinner party in amsterdam. he's got quite the eye, his use of light is haunting and delicate.



















damn, he's talented. perhaps a new job venture for the two of us?
